I’ve fought at work being the only woman in first troop ADR to come home fight domestic violence so I know what isolation feels like. You are not alone I care and will do whatever I can to make my fellow buddies feel safe. It’s horrible to feel so insecure when you are a roughly tough Ty but no shame in it. Sometimes all you need is a hug. Sending a virtual to all my nickers.

Please don't be alone in your own head - it can be a dark and scary place - reach out. You might accidentally rescue someone else at the same time as you rescue yourself. There is life on the other side of trauma, and there is safe & familiar on the otherside of being lost and afraid. Huge huge hugs.... take as many as you need...share some if you can. And when you feel like no one cares, remember I do. I always have. I always will. With all my heart. Don't ever forget you are worth it.

To anyone who feels alone

If you are reading this message then you are having a hard time of things one way or another. Please so not dispare, we may never have been in your situation, so cannot dare to imagine how you must be feeling or thinking. However, if you are able, try to find something good to focus on, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem in the bigger picture of life today. That small positive thing may help to open doors for you and be the light at the end of the tunnel. I still struggle at times

As a veteran myself I know it is hard but I also now retrained and specials as a mental health nurse. Be brave and as for help it is difficult but we are all here for you no matter how little or small amount you wish us to be. Don't stand alone just speak out. We don't need to talk about anything you don't want to but a hello I'm here can make a difference. Christmas is hard but we here all year for you xx

They say things gets better with time..I'm still waiting. They do get a little easier though. What helps is talking. Either through actual conversations or by writing messages. Putting the words on paper is very therapeutic, even if you never share them with anyone. I can't begin to imagine what you've had to deal with... Hope you're doing ok. It's only one day to get through really. Do something nice for yourself. Eat loads of crap, calories don't count at Christmas! When I feel a bit down I read. Could read all day long losing myself in the story. Keep warm and unless you have a dog stay In. You don't wanna torture yourself seeing 'happy' families. They probably can't stand each other any other day. At least you can't annoy yourself. Be good and take care. Happy Christmas. Ba humbug.

I appreciate the sacrifice you face, both in service and in civilian life and I'm thankful that people like you choose to do this. I have always taught my children to respect and honour our protectors and I now teach the young children of the future (I work in a nursery/preschool) the importance of respect and honour. This will be our 4th Christmas without my partner (daughters daddy) He served 23 years in the Army. I don't like this time of year! All the adverts showing Happy families sat around a loaded table, smiling. But there are so many families who don't have this. Family members pass away, walk away or don't care. Stay strong, better days are round the corner, warmer lighter days. Take courage in the knowledge that you lived a career you loved, and you made a difference. Yes YOU. The world is a better place for you being in it. My husband and I both served and we are very lucky to have each other. I also have a faith which means I never feel alone, but I do understand that others do. Please know there are many people who are very grateful for your service, whatever or wherever it was. We are the Poppy Appeal Organisers for Faversham and every year we get lots of kind comments and raise a lot for the British Legion. Reach out because there are many people out there who would love to support you and do care.

My dad was at the battle of casseno in world war 2 as a very young man. He didn't get any help because there was no help then but it is so different now. There are so many support groups, please think about using them. Please don't end up like my dad, an alcoholic who used alcohol to escape his life. God bless
