I'm so lucky to be able to spend my Christmas with my two young grandsons, if I couldn't I would be on my own. My late husband did 25 years in the Navy and I did 9 years in the WRNS. My dad was a CSM. He joined up aged 17 to the West Kent's before WW2. He did the North Africa campaign. Whilst there, his father (who was in the West Yorkshires) was killed in Northern France. Dad stayed in the army for 25years. He's gone now but I cannot thank all our servicemen and women enough for their service. Dad named me so my initials are CSM (Christina). Words are not enough as soldiers definitely do not do the job for money, it is s duty, way of life and belief. God bless you all. Xx

Merry Christmas! I find It hard especially at this time of year to comprehend that our veterans are alone with no family or friends to share the Christmas cheer with. My friends son was killed in Afghanistan over 10 years ago at the age of 21 and since then (up until covid hitting) we raised over £100 thousand for help for heroes & ssafa to hopefully give something back to people like yourself especially at this time of year, I hope you will have a lovely Christmas and brighter 2024 x
