I'd like to give my heartfelt love and gratitude to all veterans who have tried to make this world a better place for everyone.. I want you to know you are not alone, there is always someone to talk to. I think of you all throughout the year and especially at Christmas, especially if you are alone. Seldom do we have an opportunity to convey how we appreciate and respect somebody who has given so much of themselves in such a dedicated profession. It is difficult to readjust to civvy street as it’s called whether by choice or through injury or health issues. However, you are respected and appreciated and here’s hoping you have a peaceful holiday season and remember the bravest soldier is one who asks for help. Hi, I want to thank you for your service and truly feel for you if you are suffering from isolation or loneliness. It is really debilitating but you are not alone as I and I am sure there will be others who send you a message of caring. I had a stroke a couple of months ago and some weeks I felt so lonely, but there are people who care, and I truly hope that you realise that people do care, not just at Christmas but all year for everything you have done and sacrificed I THANK YOU .

I as a daughter of my father who was in the Army I feel obliged to write a note x I’ve worked and lived army life for most of my life and can only wish to say to anyone feeling low or down or for whatever reason feel they are totally on your own ! To all our heroes we truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts, when the call came for you to stand for our country you didn't run away you stood strong and firm, my eldest son was blown up in Iraq two of his colleagues were killed, fortunately my son survived with some bad injuries, he has never complained he feels sad for the loss of his best friend and officer but thankful for his family and friends, life has to go on or it would all have been for nothing, whether it was right or wron

One of the biggest problems for us is that we find it very difficult to say "Thank you" but so easy to complain! Despite possible appearances to the contrary, we do appreciate what the armed forces do for our country. If you or your family need help, then please ask as there is no need for you to suffer because of your pride. I have never been in the armed forces but feel very strongly that, without you, serving and veterans, this country would be a significantly worse place than it is now!

For so many, Christmas is a lonely time. For me it is also a time of reflecting on those we have lost and those who have served to protect us. I wish I could reach out and put an arm around your shoulders. That’s why I give to Help for Heroes. It’s my way of reaching out and saying thank you. When I first woke up from a stroke I could not move or speak it felt as if my whole world had been taken away but sheer will power and prayer meant that I began to speak and eat. Altho' my spine was paralyzed. I could sit in a wheelchair. It took a long time to accept I was disabled. I would think having a limb blown off, you go thru' similar terrors. Finding it hard to adjust to the new you. There is help out there if you need it not just what the army provides. Try and enjoy Christmas.

All those who need someone to talk to

I’ve never faced the dangers you have. I come from a large noisy busy family but I know loneliness. I talk mostly to sheep and cattle. I really appreciate what you have done and I think of you all lots. Because of all of you I am safe and can raise my sheep and cattle in safety. My daily mantra is When the going gets tough even the tough have to raise their game and get help.

At this time of year we give thanks for the Veterans for keeping us safe in the past. Never forgotten and always appreciated. I lived in Cyprus for 4 years and spent many happy times in the company of various SAFFA people, when at Akrotiri. Watching the Red Arrows taking off and practicing made me so proud and emotional. Also The bands of the RAF playing at Curium with the Flag flying in the background as the Sun was setting, was magical. God bless you always xx

All who have served my country

When my son did his tours of Afghanistan I prayed for God to be with him and he was since my son survived 5 bombings. I say the same today because he did not get out unscathed but has periodic bouts of PTSD and lost his best friend to suicide. My love cannot heal him but I can listen if he wants. I tell him that it is now my time to protect him but hes scared of hurting me. But be assured that love can hold pain and even though you are not my child I still pray with love for all that served.

You don't know me, but I know you. You are one of the line that stands between me and those I love, and danger. You suffer the pain and strain of war. You are ready to sacrifice your mental and physical health even your last breath, to keep me safe. I am here, my door is open to any one of you that knocks. I had a great uncle and great grandfather who died in WW1, another grandfather who served in WW1. My father & his brothers served in WW2, & my 1st husband served in N.I 1973. Thank you all.

Hi Greg ! No 1 thank you for everything you've done in serving the country & keeping our freedom. I've always hated Xmas it's really tough when you're on your own, you're made to feel so worthless. This Xmas will be tough for me, as my son will join the Army in January. I couldn't be prouder both of my boys serving. Please reach out for support & choose life. You've given so much, you deserve to be happy. You're an inspiration to young kids joining up. Keep on going you'll get there. Love Gail x

Hey, I hope you are able to feel some joy at Christmas and the new year will bring you peace. Please remember that you are thanked and loved by so many. I am so grateful for people like you who serve and protect us. I will never begin to know what you have gone through, and hope that you are able to find peace and healing, love and support as you rightfully deserve. If you are feeling as though there is no where to go, remember the words I'm about to flow. I once thought I had no place to be. A world that no longer had a place for me. I struggles and gought, like only I knew. It took months and years until I knew what to do. But now here I am, house, kids and wife. I'm so glad I decided to dig in with my life. Never feel as though you are not needed or wanted. There's always a need for everyone. Stay safe.
