When my son did his tours of Afghanistan I prayed for God to be with him and he was since my son survived 5 bombings. I say the same today because he did not get out unscathed but has periodic bouts of PTSD and lost his best friend to suicide. My love cannot heal him but I can listen if he wants. I tell him that it is now my time to protect him but hes scared of hurting me. But be assured that love can hold pain and even though you are not my child I still pray with love for all that served.
