There are so many employers now signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant, employers like me who will go above and beyond to help get you back into work and help you find a valuable career when you have been injured and have to leave the service. Ex Military personnel are in demand by a whole range of employers. I know, I am ex-forces. I understand the challenges of adapting to civilian life, but there is support out here, you just need help to find it. And I will help you.

I want to tell you of how much you are valued. You are the reason I live in a democracy and freedom. You are also the reason I was able to rear my children in safety and give them an education. Now I have grandchildren you also provided their freedom. We have just had our remembrance Sunday where our nation salutes our armed forces. I grew up in Belfast during the troubles. I’m the wife of a former soldier, who has struggled with post traumatic stress disorder. I know firsthand the personal sacrifice so many of our young servicemen and women made, and continue to make, even though they may long have left the service. Being our strong tower and protector came at too high a price. One that claimed lives but also relationships, joy and peace of mind. I personally want to thank you for your service to my country.
