I served until 1984 and demobbed in pretty good order (I thought) but with help and a lot of love and patience from my wife and close friends I lead a good life with very few nightmares. I know how lucky I have been, and it breaks my heart to see my brothers and sisters struggle. Know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It will not come easily, but trust me that Survivors Guilt will not blight your life forever. Stay strong, my brothers and sisters.
