As I stand and stare, My memories & my thoughts are cloudy, But your friendship was always there. As I travel in my mind, I see you there, a great big laugh Now you are no longer around, No sense, no sound Richie, you have gone but clear, Your laugh is still wondering around down here. I think of you often, the life you gave for your country, An ungrateful nation, no valour. Just a forgotten chapter. I remember you, I smile as you used to do, But, you are not here, my smile is mixed with tears.
